What Will Help Your Body Cope with the Cold Weather?

Warm up before you work out: You should always take the time to warm up before you work out, but especially in the freezing months. Cold muscles are more likely to be strained or injured. Loosen up by dedicating at least 10 minutes to a warmup. Your heart should be pumping and entire body should be warm and relaxed before you open the front door for your run.

Keep the humidity high: Dry winter air isn’t just uncomfortable. Studies have shown that dry air makes us more susceptible to colds, and many people experience nosebleeds, dehydration, sore throats, cough and sinus issues. You can help prevent these issues by using a humidifier in your home, ideally by your bed at night.

Moisturize: Dry air also affects skin condition. Who hasn’t experienced dry, chapped hands from washing their hands and cold winter air? Invest in a great moisturizer for your face as well as your hands, and use it often.
